The Solar Eclipse 2017 is coming on August 21. While the view from Massachusetts will be partial, please be aware that eclipse viewers still need appropriate protective eyewear. The response to our give-away was immense and we gave away all glasses within 7 hours! According to the NASA website, eclipse viewing glasses and handheld solar viewers should meet all the following criteria: certification information with a designated ISO 12312-2 international standard; manufacturer’s name and address printed somewhere on the product; should not be used if they older than three years, or have scratched or wrinkled lenses. The glasses that were distributed by the Library met these safety standards. Join us on the Library lawn for viewing on August 21, 2017. We’ll have drinks and snacks. The action begins around 1:20 pm.
